A plan built for your life in Canada
Moving to a new country changes everything: the cost of living, taxes, bank accounts, even the way you think about the future. Many families work hard and still feel the money never stretches far enough, or don’t know where to start.
This workshop is here to give you clarity: a simple structure to organize your finances and move, calmly, toward what truly matters to you.
Each session stands on its own: join even if it’s your first time.
What we’ll cover, topic by topic
1. Identifying your financial priorities and goals
Before we talk numbers, we talk about you. We help you separate the urgent from the important and give each goal a name, an amount and a date, so your money decisions have a purpose.
2. A budget adapted to life in Canada
Rent, transportation, insurance, money sent back home, tax season… We look at how to build a realistic budget around the typical expenses of living here — no complicated spreadsheets, no guilt. You can start right now with my free 2026 budget template.
3. Cash flow: income, expenses and savings capacity
Knowing how much comes in, how much goes out and when is the foundation of everything. You’ll learn to calculate your real savings capacity month by month and spot the small leaks that are easy to miss.
4. Emergency fund and strategic debt management
An emergency fund gives you peace of mind when the unexpected happens. We’ll cover how much to keep, where to keep it and how to prioritize paying down cards and loans so debt stops holding your plans back.
5. Planning to buy a home, study, start a family or retire
Every goal has its tool. We give you a general overview of how accounts such as the FHSA for your first home, the RESP for your children’s education, and the TFSA and RRSP for the long term are used in Canada.
6. Turning your goals into an action plan
We close with the most important part: moving from idea to action. You leave with a path of concrete, ordered and realistic steps you can start this very week.
What you take home
A clear structure to organize your finances and move toward your goals, with an action plan you can start applying right away.
